Though responsible for causing our lives to be abnormally hectic for a good week or so, and being the root cause of sudden weight surges, Christmas unquestionably brings about the holiday cheer in everyone.
Merry (Belated) Christmas everyone!!
(I admit it: I was too busy stuffing myself with the amazing array of cookies placed under the tree to do this sooner.)
A lot of you may have uncovered many a number of jewels upon slashing through layers of wrapping paper on Christmas day, but I'm also here to share some jewels of my own!
"Jewel-adorned" top: Vintage // Skirt, silver leaf cuff: H&M // Watch, belt, beaded bracelets: GUESS //
Suspender tights, ring: Aldo Accessories // Lace-up boots: Aldo
Possibly one of my best vintage discoveries yet, this simple black sweater is adorned with of beads of varying sizes along the neckline and right above the cuffs. Classic yet modern; fabulous yet understated. Reaching for this subtly striking number to use as the main focus of a holiday-themed outfit was undeniably the right decision.
This choice then led to pacing around my room in search for sparkly little festive extras. As the heavily adorned neckline eradicated any need for a necklace, the next step was to embellish the rest of my body: a rhinestone-encrusted ring to match with the equally flashy facet of my hot pink watch and a few sparkly beaded bracelets to further highlight the sweater's beaded accents.
To say that I love my twinkling trinkets would probably be an understatement, but to say that I am just passionate about my buttery-soft velvet skirt and hot pink accents would be just as much as one - since everyone knows that flattering draping mixed with a radiant jewel tone is a match made in heaven.
Materialistic obsession over sparkling jewellery aside though, I honestly do believe that the most brilliant gem anyone could ever uncover on Christmas is the privilege of being able to spend the most wonderful time of the year with his or her family and loved ones. If I could be granted all of my Christmas wishes in one go, my sole desire would be for my family to stay healthy.
We are now just a few days from 2013! Let's ring in the New Year with style people!
