Studs and Pompoms

Ahhhh the last week before finals - this shall be interesting ^ ^;

Since it is technically winter right now (what with Christmas songs playing all over the mall and all), I decided that this would be the perfect time for my snowflake sweater to make its debut.

Leather jacket: Laura // Snowflake sweater: Aeropostale // Cross ring: Aldo Accessories //
Collared dress, lace-trim socks, hair accessory: H&M // Wedges: Fergalicious by Fergie

Though many have been sporting leather since the summer (though I question the practicability of that, since spending sweltering summers in skin-tight leather pants is far from my idea of fun...), I finally decided to debut my own studded leather jacket after rediscovering this pair of wedges in my shoe closet the other day - do the studs on the grey-blue jacket not make a perfect match with the studs on the denim-coloured straps of the shoes?

When it comes to layering, you can never go wrong with mixing different textures. Previously, I executed a barely-noticeable "texture play" of cotton and chiffon, as well as a combination of coloured textures

This time it's a cute, ribbed knit with small adorable pompoms and a smooth leather jacket with round-topped studs of varying sizes. This snowflake sweater was actually bought by my dear mother one day last year (cue the memories of nolstalgic colourful Christmas sweaters we all wore as toddlers).

Of course, the standard person would just team it up with a pair of simple black leggings and faux-fur-lined sheepskin boots...but how incredibly DULL would it be if we all dressed the same way? Add some purple tights for a subtle twist! Or even better, add some tights and a pair of lace-trimmed ankle socks!

And why not switch out those sheepskin boots for a pair of cork-base wedges while you're at it? (That is, given it's not yet cold enough to make your legs and toes go numb after 5 minutes in the freezing outside world.)

It might not yet be evident that I simply detest the cold, but I do. I dislike that fact that it takes almost twice as long to reach the same destination as opposed in the summer. I also dislike the fact that my face starts getting sensitive every time I step foot outside.

I wonder how winter is for everyone else out there...
